Connecting a New Kiosk to Your Store

A new kiosk does not pick a menu on its own. You pair it to a store. That store already has a Data catalogue and a default app. After pairing, the device downloads both.

The full pairing steps (6-character code, licence, store, device type) are in Pairing Your Sephona Kiosk (Step-by-Step). This article is the store side of the same job.

Before you plug it in

  1. The store exists under Stores → Store Overview.
  2. That store has a Data catalogue and a Default App.
  3. You have a spare device licence.

Connect the hardwareKiosk pairing screen with a 6-character code

  1. Power on the kiosk and confirm it has a network connection (Ethernet is more reliable than Wi-Fi in a QSR).
  2. It should open sephona.sodaclick.com/connect with a 6-character pairing code (uppercase letters and numbers).
  3. In the dashboard go to Devices → Devices Overview → Add New Device. Enter the code, licence, store, name, and type (Kiosk, Voice Kiosk, or Command Center).
  4. Save. The kiosk loads that store’s catalogue in the background. You do not reboot it to pick up the menu.

What the kiosk downloads

Once paired, the device is given the store, brand, and Data set for that location. It then loads categories, products, modifiers, prices, and the app styling. When it has checked in within five minutes, Devices Overview shows Online.

If the screen says Device Disconnected, the device is unpaired. Add it again with a new code. There is no Unpair button; use Delete Device.

No menu after pairing

  • Open Store Settings and confirm Data is set.
  • Confirm the store’s default app is set if your brand uses apps.
  • Wait for the catalogue refresh. Do not factory-reset the kiosk as a first step.
