On Devices → Devices Overview, each kiosk shows Online or Offline. That badge is about the last heartbeat, not about whether the device is enrolled.
How Sephona decides
- Online — the kiosk sent a heartbeat within the last 5 minutes (tooltip: last heartbeat received recently).
- Offline — no heartbeat in that window. The tooltip shows last seen, or Never connected if it has not checked in.
Enrolled is a different flag. A device can be paired (enrolled) and still show Offline if power, network, or the kiosk app is down.
The device list refreshes in the background. You do not need to reload the page to see a kiosk come back.
If a kiosk is Offline
- Confirm it has power and a network connection (Ethernet is more reliable than Wi-Fi in a QSR).
- Confirm the Sephona kiosk app is open, not the Chrome desktop.
- Wait up to five minutes after it reconnects. The badge then flips to Online.
- If the screen shows Device Disconnected, the device was deleted or lost its pairing. Add it again with a new pairing code.
